OOTD: Casual

In a previous post I mentioned how I wanted to do a "Frugal Friday" series where I share an outfit or some tips. I'm not exactly sure how often I will be able to make that happen on Friday, but sometime during the week I will share a bargain worthy outfit!

Today was a kind of casual day. My boyfriend and I went long boarding at the park and then out to Chick-fil-a for a late lunch. Afterwards we went to my volleyball game (where we won!)

Denim Top: Marshall's ($7.00)
Leggings: Charlotte Russe ($3.00)
Beanie: Baltimore Aquarium (Gifted)
Converse: JcPenny ($10.00)
Bracelets: Claries ($1.00 each)
Rings: (Gifted)

I wanted to share a little story with you about how I received this beanie! This past Friday our school took a trip to the Baltimore Aquarium. Right before lunch my friends, boyfriend, and I were looking around the gift shop. I saw this beanie and wanted it so bad! I ended up not buying it because I only had enough money for lunch. I went on about my day and forgot about it. Just when we were about to get onto the buses my boyfriend looks at me, smiles and says "Hey", showing me the beanie! I was so surprised and excited. It's probably one of the cutest things anyone has ever done for me.

Also I made a bloglovin so follow me if you'd like:

Fall Favorites

Fall is just beginning! While Summer is my favorite season and I will miss it very much, I am pretty excited for Fall. To celebrate the upcoming season I want to share my favorites with you.

1. My birthday! I recently just had my 18th birthday. Yup, officially an adult.

I have so many fall fashion favorites so I'll just list a few:
  • Navy blue: Recently on the runways of Paris and New York fashion week. I'm excited to incorporate some navy blue into my Fall outfits.
  • Blazers and coats: One thing I really love about Fall fashion is all the layers. You can recycle all your tanks and short sleeves from Summer and wear a cute blazer over them. Poof! Instant Fall wear. (I especially love blazers/coats with shorter skirts.)

  • Boots: I'm ready to pull out all my boots (and of course buy some new ones). From heeled booties to combat boots, and knee highs. My number one essential: A pair of basic black boots!
2. Apple dumplings. Seriously.

3. Fall festivities: Haunted trails, pumpkin patches, hayrides, homecoming, and of course 13 days of Halloween on ABC family.

4. Finally, I'm so excited for the new season of The Walking Dead. If any of you wanna fan girl with me down below I will definitely enjoy! :)

Leave me your "Fall favorites" down below.

My Weight Loss Journey

Around December 2012 I started eating healthier and working out daily with the support and inspiration of the best mom in the world, seriously. Together we put in hours at the gym and hours in the kitchen! I lost around 20 pounds by May 2013. My mom losing even more and looking so good! I am so proud of that and my whole journey.

I started school at the end of August and I've noticed a change in my body and overall energy. I started slacking off and neglecting my health and fitness. I play volleyball so I'm still exercising but I have been eating pretty unhealthy. I've gained around 4 pounds and although that might not sound like to much I can see it (and feel it)- considering I'm only 5'3. Now it's October and I'm ready to get back to being a healthier me. I want to see more progress in my body change and become more fit! So starting tomorrow I will be back to daily exercise and healthy eating.

I want to share my new journey with all of you and hopefully get and give some inspiration to stay fit and healthy. I'm hoping to do a monthly post with pictures of my progress. If you have any tips, recommendations, healthy snack ideas or anything of the sort leave me a comment!

Let me know what you think!

Welcome to my blog,

I'm Ayrika. (air-eh-ka) Simply pronounced Erica, Erika, and sometimes Airika. Take your pick. I live in small town and attend an even smaller private school. About 25 students in my graduating class, I wasn't kidding. Maybe that's the reason my soul yearns for city lights and busy streets.

I am still young but my future is coming fast- faster than I expected. I'm starting this blog to express me, to express how I feel and what I feel. Why I feel it. On this journey I'm hoping to be inspired and give inspiration.

The reality of all this is, I'm just new york city dreaming....

"Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the starts to change the world."
